I'm sad they've not kept their promise but they may have real reasons, they'll be grieving too so might be too hard for them to reach out. 
 

Why not reach out to them to see them? If they decline you know where you stand

I have tried  reaching  out but they don't  want to know.I have never seen my step great grandchildren  since my husband passed away.Luckly I have my own son supporting  me and my work colleagues who are like family xx
