Newly diagnosed bowel cancer

Hi I have just received the devastating news today that I have bowel cancer with spots on liver and lungs. Am desperate to talk to someone and don't know what to do or think. Can someone help me

  • Hey, just came across your post and thought I'd reply back. I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I can't even begin to imagine how you feel, but please talk about it, you will feel much better.
My mum was also diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer, back in February 2021, so I can imagine how devasting it is for you. This forum has helped me connect with people who have also had bowel cancer and can help, so please share your thoughts and concerns on here.

While I can't give medical advice on the cancer itself, always here if you need someone to talk to you

Sending you lots of love and prayers xx

  • Thank you. This is such a shock. Keep swi nging from. Calm and positive to headless chicken. My kids are grown up and its really hard seeing them so upset. Can they do things? I don't want die just yet. I have 9 little grandchildren and I can't imagine not seeing them grow up. I so all over the place. I hope your mum is doing OK? X

  • Hi

Sorry to hear your news, I understand how you are feeling as I was diagnosed with bowel cancer 7 years ago.

The shock, the worry, seeing your family devastated etc...

I'm here for any questions you may have, send me a friend request if you need to talk.

Things will get moving pretty quickly where your medical team will put your treatment plan in place. You just have to let them get on with it and keep positive.

O and don't google, it fills your head with the worst of everything.

    xx
