Worried

Hi,

I'm waiting for a respiratory appointment due to me having nodules on my lungs after my recent ct scan as I had suspected blood clot. It can take up to  2 weeks just don't now I'm gonna keep sane !!

I work  as  a HCA at local A&E a work is busy just feel so tired and no energy .

I'm trying to stay positive but absolutely petrified that it's lung cancer .

I had raised d dimer levels only slightly but still a worry I also have nodules on my lower back which showed on my last ct scan 1/10 but we're not there on a mri had as I also have pain in my groin, hip, knee on left side I have severe scaring from having 3 csections and waiting for appointment to check what the nodules are and pain I'm having ... I'm just scared it's some sort of cancer they have missed as I've had pain and discomfort for years now

Thanks for listening

xx

  • Hello Myro,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait too long for your appointment. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting to find out more. You do an incredible job working in A & E, it can't be easy for you and I can imagine you are feeling exhausted at the moment and nervous as you are waiting to get some definite answers.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,

  • Thanks  Lucie and others who have very kindly replied and the wonderful advice from the ask the nurses.

I was doing ok keeping busy especially in my job!

I have an appointment for next Thursday and that has seemed to have made me more anxious.

I've just finished my night shift and  off this weekend going to get to the Beach have a swim and use my paddle board  as  I'm lucky enough to live near the sea.

Stop googling stuff as I know it's the  worse thing to do !

Just seems lately I've had a lot of people I've cared for who have very sadly been diagnosed with lung  cancer.

So get my positive head on plenty of fresh air quality time with my family and maybe some chocolate and the odd glass of wine x

    Thanks again
