Melanoma 1B

Hi I was diagnosed 1B melanoma on the 2nd August. Depth was 1.9mm mitotic rate 5. I knew the day I went to see the dermatologist that it was melanoma, but had left it for a while so feared the worst. Had my sentinel lymph node biopsy on the 27th august and had to wait 5 weeks for results. This morning I had the best news ever negative in the WLE and the lymph node. I lost my mum to cancer at 57 so this brought back many memories of very dark days. For those of you worried about SNLB please don't it's a little uncomfortable afterwards but soon passes. Angie T you are very inspiring with your kind words and knowledge x

  • Thanks Lucie it's been a very difficult few months, but have found this chat really helpful. Once more I would say to people not to google it can drive you mad and paints a grim picture. Once I gave up looking I was able to cope a lot better .

  • Hi Jeollie,

I'm so happy to hear your WLE and SLNB results came back clear, especially after such a long and stressful wait. Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your news - newly diagnosed patients will find it really beneficial when they need it most. Take care and best wishes,

    Angie x
