LLETZ AND PERIOD

Hello everyone :)  

I had my LLETZ procedure done the other day, it wasnt the nicest procedure however, I had just started my period which is usually heavy the first 3 days. The day I went in I was bleeding my usual, they said being on my period didn't matter. I had the procedure done and now I'm only bleeding a tiny bit from the procedure, whats happened to my period?? Surely it doesn't just stop? Anyone else had any experience with this? I'm worried that I'm going to get some sort of blast of period or something!? 

Sorry not the nicest thing to talk about but we are all human!

    Hello Kellie, 

    Don't apologize, you can talk about anything on Cancer Chat - we certainly are all human and you can talk about periods without any fear! I am not sure what happened to your period and why having the procedure stopped it. I would expect this effect to have only been temporary. You will probably know by now whether it has come back or not and if there is anything you feel worried about, don't hesitate to mention it to your GP. 

    I hope that you will meet others on the forum who have had experience of this and that they will be along shortly to share their story with you.
