MRI scan

Hi, I went for my first MRI scan early this morning, I was quite nervous about it as I suffer with migraines sometimes and said I'd get this done just to rule out anything and have piece of mind. When it was finished i asked the nurse if they had found anything hoping she would let me know, obviously they are not allowed to tell you anything, but the nurse then asked me who referred me my gp or the hospital - It was my gp. Hoping to hear back with my results in 5 working days and really hoping it is nothing serious and I am in the all clear

    Hi Siobh,

    A very warm welcome to our forum. You have done the right thing in getting this investigated. Did you have any other tests or just the MRI? This is always a nerve wracking time, but at least you don't have too long to wait for your results. 

    The consultant will usually give you the result when s/he sees you, but staff are not usually allowed to discuss results, as they usually have them checked by a radiologist first.

    Hi Jolamine, 

    I hope all is well with you. Yeah I went to a clinic in waterloo for my scan, so I'm sure they would have to send the results away to be looked at properly. I just had the mri scan there only.
