Hysteroscopy

I have bleeding with clots post menopausal for 4 weeks.

Ultrasound revealed area that consultant thought was either a polyp or thickening.  I had ahysteroscopy today and was told no polyp but didn't say there was no thickening.  He didn't indicate anything was wrong and said he took biopsy and to wait for the results.   Now I'm just confused, if there is no polyp does that mean there is a thickening and could this be cancer.  If not, then what is causing my bleeding.  Where has the abnormality seen on the ultrasound gone?  He said if biopsy was all clear I'd need to go back to my GP.  Surely, I've already done that and that's why I've been referred to Gynae to find out what the problem is.

im dreading 2\3 week wait for biopsy results.

has anybody else experienced similar

  • Hello Daffodilyellow,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait too long for your biopsy results. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting for these important results.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious. There are some good tips on this page on how to cope while waiting for news.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
