Hi,

I'm due a CT scan Friday but was told the results can take 2 weeks to come back , hope this helps? I've had a bone scan also and was basically told the same again , I'm guessing tho that with me seeing I've got to have a resiscion that they'll give me all the results together. 

I'm sorry to hear of your anguish,  it's so frightening just waiting for results,  you imagine all sorts and even convince yourself your dying ,  I know I do , every little twinge I'm convinced it's something other than just the healing process and now I'm already convinced the bone scan results and CT scan results will come back positive and maybe they will come back as saying the cancer as spread but maybe they won't. 

Either way each day needs to be taken as it comes,  worrying makes us ill even angry .

So sorry you are going through such a worrying time. 

I was recently sent for a CT scan and I had a phone call from my doctor to see him on the same day. Thankfully, after a further urgent referral, it turned out to be nothing to worry about.

Easier said than done I know, but try not to worry. I agree with your wife that if there was any concern they would have contacted you by now.

Yes the waiting is the worst part of it and I no saying have a positive attitude/outcome is easier to say than to do .

It's great you have an understanding wife,  you're right we can't change the outcome we can just hope that it's the positive outcome that we want. 

My story is obviously different to yours,  I didn't feel any lump, I just had a itch that got worse and kept me awake,  I'd had 2 letters telling me I was due a mammogram being the grand old age of 50 but I kept putting it off, waiting for covid to do one , but the itch was driving me mad so I booked the mammogram thinking,  if its all clear I'll go see the GP , however they called me back in for another mammogram and told me there and then I had breast cancer and booked a operation to remove the lump and lymph nodes,  that was 4 weeks ago now , I reviewed the results and was told I had grade 3 breast cancer and out of the 18 nodes they removed 13 was cancerous and also need another operation on the 22nd Sept to remove more tissue . So I've had a bone scan need a CT scan Friday all these are to see if it's spread .

I know we all cope with things differently and my way of coping is to not think to much about it because I can't change it , it's still early days for me my diagnosis was end of June and it's all so surreal , like it's not happening to me .

I will keep me updated and if you can keep me updated on your results too please.

Thank you for your reply I'm happy its all went well for you and your scan. I actually feel much better today maybe just getting it off my chest helped I also rang the hospital and I spoke to the secretary of the doctor who ordered the ct scan they have been read and sent to the doctor I seen 2 months ago so hope to hear soon. 

It truly is the waiting that is the worst. Ive been much better today I've put it to the back of my mind and spent the day playing with my daughters. I also rang the hospital spoke to the secretary of the doctor who ordered the ct she said they have been reviewed and sent to the doctor I first seen 2 months ago so hope to hear soon either by letter or phone she said.

They are OK you lie on your back and it's like a doughnut and it takes a 360 picture of you body it was quite loud but nothing to bad. Very relaxing actually hope this helps.

Just to let you know my results came back as normal nothing found on kidney.

although I have been diagnosed with Diverticulitis Disease which is an inflammation in the bowel because of low fiber Just waiting to see if I need an operation called a colectomy, something about removing some intestine and fitting a colostomy bag. In my case I am happy with that outcome as i know it could have been alot worse. I'm praying you have good news after your scan and look forward to hearing from you.

Oh wow thaf is good news, well kinda , I personally wouldn't like to have a colostomy bag but I'm glad your happy with that outcome . 

I have been tested for that too but they think I have bile acid Malabsorption and waiting to have a camera put up the rear end lol but this was all before the Cancer diagnosis so guessing that's being put on the back burner for a while .

Anyhow I'm real pleased of your outcome, that's got to be the best news ever?
