Hi Karenk,
A very warm welcome to our forum. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 12 years, plus a few false alarms, so I have been through a number of biopsies. All I can say, is that the wait never gets any easier. Most of us would say that this is one of the worst parts of our cancer journey, as thereare so many unknowns and uncertainties.
I am glad to hear that you don't have much longer to wait. Try to keep yourself occupied with other distractions to help the time to pass a little quicker over the weekend.
Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi just joined this site reading different comments such an agonising wait for results I'm awaiting my appointment to see if my treatment has worked you feel so lonely at this moment hope all works out for you hang on in there my love thoughts are with you
Hi
Thank you Karen and Mickey for your well wishes today, they were very much welcomed.
I too was 50 this year Karen, my dog was 11 when she passed away last wk and live in Scotland too. So your post really resonated with me, thank you.
Debated about updating as my results were clear and feel quite guilty given that so many have not been so lucky and there are others still at the waiting stage.
A " blob" had shown on original mammogram on left breast so a more detailed one, examination and then ultrasound today.
Was told that I have " fatty breasts". The blob, as they called it, turned out to be a tiny piece of really dense tissue, but other than that there is pretty much no breast tissue at all.
I will never forget these past few weeks, nor this forum which really saved my sanity and as previously mentioned really did make me feel much calmer.
You are all so unbelievably strong and from the bottom of my heart I wish each and every one of you all the best on your journeys, the light at the end of the tunnel will be yourselves.
Thank you , K xx

Hi Lisa,
the Breast surgeon rang me yesterday to say the calcifications are atypical hyperplasia the same as the last time. He said he is just waiting on the final results back from pathology but it looks ok. He said I will need a procedure to remove all the area but it is minor and close monitoring as they came back so quickly. He was very nice and put my mind at ease as I was getting very anxious. I am in to see him next week to discuss it further. I know how lucky I am and very grateful. I found the stereotactic biopsy ok they gave me plenty of local anesthetic and I was numb I have a tiny bruise and a blister from it. But the waiting is awful I had a wait of 4 weeks for the biopsy and it has aged me. I am thinking of everyone waiting on results and everyone who has got results and now facing treatment.

Morning Lisa, Thank you as ever for your well wishes. I've kept a bit of a low profile lately as the wait is becoming too much even for me now. Positively I have my pre-op today (by phone), but unbelievably nothing about my sentinel lymph node(s) removal yet at all, but I have been told they need it in advance of op and results at least a week before. Surgery scheduled for 14/12. I never did hear back from my BCN, chased yesterday morning, no response yet. My stress is admittedly through the roof now and I'm struggling sleeping again. I hope to get answers today and then I can relax a bit and start prepping for my hospital stay.
How are you Lisa?
love n hugs Mickey xx ️
Oh my gosh it's shocking how you've had to wait, it's not surprising your stress is through the roof as it's unbelievably a tough enough time without all that added on top, Wish I could do something to help but know I'm only a message away if you ever need to let it all out.
I'm pleased you now have a date for surgery, will be with you in spirit on the 14th but boy - what a long time you've had to wait Mickey xxx
I'm doing OK now, felt very low after it all, couldn't handle friends or family thinking I could switch off and felt I needed time to just heal mentally from it all and get used to normality again.
But it's so lovely to hear from you again my fellow mammogram machine wrestler (shoulder still aches)
Sending you love and a huge, huge hug
Thank you Lisa, I'm not surprised you felt low after the experience, it takes sooo much out of you. I'm glad you gave yourself the space to mentally heal.
Talking of the mammogram wrestling, I've just received an appointment for an ultrasound on my frozen shoulder for this Thursday. It is, thank heavens improving now I'm not working and I can move it in a straight line now, but it's still causing pain and I still can't sleep on it.
Got through my pre-op ok, got to go in for bloods etc next Wed. I have quite a few appointments again now pre-op, hopefully that will help the next two weeks to pass more quickly.
Thanks for checking in and take care of you Lisa. Enjoy the family fun lead up to Christmas. Sending love and a huge hug back, Mickey xx ️
Hi Mickey,
i'm glad to hear that your pre-op went well today and also that you have finally got an appointment through for your shoulder. - I'm sure that you'll feel relieved to have it. It's great to hear that your shoulder is feeling a little better too.
Take care,
Jolamine xx
Thank you Jolamine, I will keep you posted. I hope you are well xx ️
That's great Mickey,
I hope that the ultrasound goes well tomorrow.
Regards,
Jolamine xx
