Hi Karenk,
A very warm welcome to our forum. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 12 years, plus a few false alarms, so I have been through a number of biopsies. All I can say, is that the wait never gets any easier. Most of us would say that this is one of the worst parts of our cancer journey, as thereare so many unknowns and uncertainties.
I am glad to hear that you don't have much longer to wait. Try to keep yourself occupied with other distractions to help the time to pass a little quicker over the weekend.
Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx

Hi lucy
I have a radial scar initially on a mammogram it looks like a cancer so ive had an ultrasound biopsy followed by a stereotactic biopsy clips put in both times, the results for cancer are clear, but the radial scar may have cancer cells behind it, so yesterday i had a mag seed put in place, which the surgeon is guided by when i get the operation on the 8th of November, so far so good and heres hoping that once its removed that its clear too, but its a journey thats for sure and i get where you are coming from
Karen
Hi Karen,
So happy that it sounds so positive for you so far. Fingers crossed for you that it continues that way. Yes I've been reading up on markers, it seems they use them a lot. My 'D day' is getting nearer. I'll never forget this journey as long as I live. X
Morning Lucy
Ive got 3 markers in now well 2 markers and on Tuesday the magseed was put in but, ditto! I feel what you do!!! And if its not the big C lurking about this radial scar it is as you say a journey we wont forget, i just get one bruise away then a couple of weeks later another procedure then another bruise, its just the most dreadful, unknown journey to ever go through its on your mind all the time, even if its not cancer for me still an operation at the end of it, but between the breast clinic and hospital they hsve been brilliant, its just such a personal area, Tuesday taking your bra off in front of 4 strangers i just hated it. Whens your results hunni?
Karen xxx
Oh bless you hun. So horrible. Mines pretty bruised from the biopsy, still hurts too nearly a week later. Can't even go down the stairs without holding it still. My results are on Monday at 3pm. I think I might actually vomit with nerves that morning. I'm supposed to be at a party sat night. Unsure what to do. How can I still enjoy myself with this hanging over me? Just want to hide until Monday

Hi lucy
Go and enjoy yourself at the moment its out of your hands i know what the worry and unknown is like, im not out of the woods yet, its so hard to stay positive when something is constantly hanging over us, its the unknown and the waiting but dont let this beat you, im scared every day too as with most of us on here but we will all live to tell the tale, we all have a mask on and its hard and believe me i wear my mask every day, its gut wrenching, you dont know whats ahead, but we are all supporting each other, at this stage dont let it win before you even know your results but we all think the worst, moods are like a rollercoaster, its something we wont forget going through, but we will get through it! Get your frock looked out, your makeup on and have fun, im going to see James bond tomorrow night lol few drinks afterwards at my new partners house, its only been 3 weeks since i met him, hes very supportive thought id be honest from the start, he didnt walk away he is very understanding but im scared dealing with this with a new person in my life, friends and family are supportive too but i have moments when i want to just be on my own, its very overwhelming but only you girls really get this! Easy for me to say things to people when im in the same boat but regardless what outcomes we get its a journey and something we wont forget but we can do this, so you better get to that party, look a million dollars and enjoy the weekend and forget things for a little while because i am, like you two minds but we deserve a break from this ***, so head held high and enjoy the party xx

Hi Karen,
You're so right. Gut wrenching it certainly is. I feel in my own bubble, like I can't forward plan or even think straight. But you're right, I'm not letting it win before I even know anything and I'm going to the party. Going to try and put it to one side even for a few hours. In my life, it's only the people on this group that understand and I'm so grateful to be here.
So happy that your new partner is supportive ️
we can do this xx
Hi lucy
I found a lump in 30s turned out to be a benign mass then on friday the 13th of august this year was a mammogram because i turned 50 in April and it csme back unclear i just thought it had flagged up from the lump i had previous but its a different thing altogether its a radial scar (google it) results not cancer but a radial scar can carry cancerous cells hense why they are taking it out xx
Ah I see. Great that they are acting and removing it. I'd never heard of radical scar. I'm really hoping mine is a benign mass. I'm unsure how I will cope with bad news. I'm really not good at coping with things
Hi everyone
I had my results today....Good news...I had clear margins and lymph nodes were clear xxxxxx
I have estrogen blockers and start radiotherapy when my wound heals xxxx
June
Hi all
I have read through this thread and feel reassured by such a amazing group of women.
I am 46 and attended the breast clinic on 12/10/21. Had a mammogram followed by ultrasound and 3 core biopsies with 2 markers inserted. I originally went with a relatively large lump that I had felt but ended with the large lump, a much smaller lump and the lymph node needing biopsies. The radiographer said that she was concerned but the Dr (Registrar I believe) was saying how sorry he was to give bad news, making me feel he has diagnosed without biopsies results.
They said it would take up to 2 weeks for biopsy results and case would be discussed at MDT on Thursday next week. I am struggling to deal with this, my mind is racing permanently, I feel lost and like I don't know what to do with myself. Do they really know for sure without the biopsy results?
Nikki xx
Hi Nikki, hopefully someone a lot more informed than me will respond to this for you. I'm quite early in my diagnosis and so I'm only learning. My understanding is they can never be 100% sure until they get your biopsy results. I'd like to think if they could that they wouldn't put us through that pain also. I do think from my own experience though they sometimes they see things that gives them a good idea, but they can be absolutely wrong, hence why they need the biopsies. It's so hard and believe me, we all understand. Personally I had biopsies on my lump and got results they were cancer, but also had microcalcifications and so had to have further biopsies under mammogram which were done on Wednesday. Like you my MDT meeting is held in a Thursday and so now I'm waiting too to find out the scale of my treatment x be kind to yourself x hugs Mickey xx
Hi Nikki,
Like Mickey, I'm very new to all this too. I've had ultrasound, mammogram, triple core biopsy and a marker put in. The radiographer and doctor both said they were literally 50/50 on whether it was cancer and that they couldn't possibly tell without biopsy results. I've got a friend who they said they were 99% sure it was cancer and it turned out to be benign! So they really can't be sure. I get my results on Monday.
In the short time I've been in this group these ladies have unknowingly pulled me out of a very dark place. We are here for you ️
Morning Mickey
Thank you for your reply, so sorry to hear your diagnosis and hoping you get positive news going forward with treatment. I agree, I working within the NHS (Midwife) so often see things before return of results. I think I am am just grasping at straws and the possibility that they might have got it wrong.
I find it so sad yet reassuring to see so many other women in the same position, support from people who know exactly how it feels has helped so much. Xx
