Waiting on breast biopsy results

Im waiting on breast biopsy results, i get them on monday, the waiting is just dreadful, sometimes your gut feeling tells you what you know but this time i just dont know! Anyone feel or felt the same?

  • Hi Jane71

O am so glad to hear you are clear now....unfortunately I am not financially able to go private.

If tou look back on my pasts is there any hope to clear mine so you think? Xx

    Hugs

    June

  • Oh June there is every hope in the world.
I know that at the moment you feel so down and helpless. I used to wake up every morning crying, I had convinced myself that there is no hope. Sundays were always the worst.
I was so desperate that I found the money to go private but the operation would have been exactly the same privately or through the NHS it was even with the same surgeon. It was purely for my mental health as I could have it done a week earlier. The surgeon even told me that it would make no difference to wait a week to save the money.
I was told after the operation that I did have 4mm of invasive cancer but it had all been removed.
Is your appointment with the consultant on Tuesday? You will feel better once you have spoken to them and have a definite plan of action. Look at all the amazing comments on this thread. So many have been through the same thing and understand how you are feeling and are here to tell the tale and to help.
I wish I could give you a hug to help reassure you that it will all work out.

  • Hi

Mine is 10mm reaches margin...I have mammogram and ultrasound Tuesday..see consultant..MDT meeting thur..they call me Thursday with a plan.  So I don't know. Xxxx

  • That's really quick so not long to wait. 10mm is small in comparison to mine at 10cm. You are in the hands of experts and no decision can be made until the mammogram and ultrasound and it always has to go through an MDT meeting so all the experts can make a discuss all the results.
as Jolamine said, write down all your questions. I recorded my meetings with the consultant on voice memo as I knew I wouldn't remember anything they said. Have they given you a number to talk to the breast nurse at the hospital?

  • Hi

A nurse gave me her name and number who is looking after me xx

  • If you are feeling really worried then call the nurse in the morning. They know how you are feeling and can help to reassure you. I really do send you all my love and support and understand how you are feeling as do the other women on this group. You are not alone, bloody boobs, nothing but trouble. Xxx

  • Hi June,

Your scans will probably pick these areas up anyway, but no harm in asking, just to make sure.

  • Hi Jane and thanks for taking the time to write such a full reply. I'm not sure if they plan to remove any lymph nodes- I reckon best to do so if in any doubt. I have two locations s underd suspicion and they are 8 cm apart so Ideead to think they may take a chunk. As I am 67 I was told they don't do reconstruction on NHS over the age of 65 so I'm scared about that. Not sure how I go about even finding out what that would cost me privately.  I'll add that to my questions.
Hoping I'll get news this week as to next move.

Im so happy to hear you are ok now and your story has reassured me. Grateful . Sending love and hugs  x

  • Meant to say my biopsy was difficult. They were focussing on two areas in one breast and by the end I had two clips inserted and they must have taken at least 20 X-rays.  It was like two separate operations snd it took just over an hour.  They were so so good and kind and reassuring it made such a difference .
