Hi June,
I know that this is not what you wanted to hear, but calm down and let's put this into perspective. It is only grade 2 and it is treatable. It is also Her2 negative. These are three positives to hang on to. HER2 negative cancer cells tend to grow more slowly and are less likely to recur or spread to other parts of the body than HER2 positive cells.
You will know more about any further treatment once your MDT meeting is held post-mastectomy. I am glad to see that you don't have long to wait for this and that you will get your results the following day.
It is normal to send any tissue removed during surgery to Pathology for analysis and a number of people have to get further surgery, because a clear margin hasn't been attained. This is disappointing, but fairly routine.
Try to keep yourself busy until Wednesday to help the time to pass.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi Karen,
This is certainly not an experience that anyone would want to go through. Hopefully, you are now closer to getting a conclusive answer. I am sorry to hear that you didn't sleep much last night and, hope that you have managed to catch up today. It's good to hear that your pain is bearable now.
Just take it easy over the weekend.

Hi June
I've not posted on here before but have been reading all the support and thought I would tell you my experience as it seems similar to yours, apart from your long wait.
I had a mammogram in July and was called back as there was concern. I had another mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy the first week in August where there said they were fairly certain it was cancerous. It was confirmed a week later as Grade 2 invasive cancer 6-7mm, ER+ve, PR +ve and HER2 -ve.
I had a lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy just over 2 weeks later and then had to wait just over 2 weeks for the results. I then got the good news that the margins were clear and so was the sentinel node (they only took one). I have been told that it was Stage 1A, which is the first part of the first stage. This is different from the Grade, which refers to the way the cancer cells look.
it is looking like I will not be needing any further treatment (no radiotherapy or chemotherapy) apart from taking letrazole for 5 years and having annual mammograms for 10 years, if I am able to take part in a research project called Primetime. Even if I don't get accepted onto the Primetime trial, I can probably have the same plan.
So, I would think that you could be in exactly the same position as me in a few weeks time, so although it is a worrying time, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
take care
Hi
Thankyou for the support and reassurance xx I am grade 2? But I have lump on collar bone and under arm
They don't seem bothered about collar bone but it's grown? They are scanning breast and under arm...wonder if I can ask them to double check the collar bone? Xx

June
In your post at 10.18 today you said it was ER +ve, HER2 -ve, 10mm and grade 2, so apart from being a tiny bit larger, though still pretty small, it's like mine. I was told mine was really tiny and that they don't see many that small. The average at the clinic I went to is around 2cm.
Sorry, I had no lump which could be felt either by me or the doctor, so can't say anything about that, but you should ask them to check anything you are concerned about.
Hi June,
It is always helpful to have your MRI sooner rather than later, as this cuts down on that awful waiting time. It's good to hear that your consultant is going to see you too. If you have any questions, be sure to write them down before your appointment, as it is all too easy to forget something important in the heat of the moment.
