I have a endoscopy booked on Sunday to rule out sinister causes of throat pain and some sticking sensations on eating. I have most of the symptoms on the list, albeit often quite mild, yet I have been assured by 5 different health professionals that the pattern of symtopms does not fit cancer. Age is often invoked in these discussions, although the statistics shows that clearly younger people do get these kind of cancers, albeit less frequently than older people. Despite being told all this, I cannot stop thinking about the possibility it might be cancer and I am struggling to get through these last few days before the test.
