Abnormal cells and HPV positive

Hi all I'm 27 I have a 4 year old son and 5 year old son. I never had a smear since having them until 6 weeks ago. I got my results last week which were HPV positive and abnormal cells. I also bleed alot in-between periods and get cramping in my lower abdomen into my crotch area. I have to go to a hospital in a couple weeks for a colonoscopy. I fear so much that I could have cancer and I'm so scared. Has anyone ever had all this happen and still get good results etc non cancerous? Thanks so much for reading this.

    I'm sorry to hear that you're recent cervical screening results showed that you are HPV+ with some abnormal cells. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about things. 

    We know that many women find it distressing when they're given these kinds of results. I'd recommend having a look at the Jo's Trust website. They're lots of information on there that will hopefully give you some reassurance about your upcoming colposcopy. You're also most welcome to give our team of nruses a call. I'm sure they will be able to answer some of your questions and give you some advice and support that will help.
