Should I get a 2nd opinion? Offered coil for endometrial thickness

Hi just wondered if anyone has similar experience. I have had heavy painful periods for 2 yrs or more now with leg pain and lower back pain, I am they say peri menopausal. I have been taking hrt for 3 mths. My mother had a hysterectomy at age 42. I am 49 just had an ultrasound scan which confirmed endometrial thickness of 29mm. The GP has rung and simply offered a coil fitting. Given symptoms for over 2 years and family history do I need a 2nd opinion as she was not interested. I work in the NHS. I have not been offered any further investigation.
