Tonsil cyst

Hello there! I noticed a lump on my tonsil pillars and now I'm freaking out! At first it felt like a hair was stuck in my throat and when I checked that's when I first noticed it a few days ago. I saw a nurse who said it looks like a cyst and nothing to worry about but when I've been googling it (bad idea I know) it's coming up with cancer! It's called the posterior tonsil pillar (how ever you spell it) were the lump is on. The nurse said she will refer me to see ent but I haven't heard anything yet and my anxiety is through the roof! Had anyone else had the same problem? Thanks in advance x

    As you've mentioned, Dr Google is not the best person to consult about medical issues as the information that comes up is not individual to you so if you can, try to stop using it as it will only heighten your anxiety and make your worries worse.

    I hope you can take some comfort from the feedback you've received from the nurse but hopefully it won't be long until the ENT referral can give you the answers and peace of mind you're seeking.
