I had my first ever smear test back in June and I'm now 25. My results came back HPV positive and low grade dyskaryosis. It took 5 weeks to get my results and it's approx 16-18 weeks for a colposcopy appointment with the back logs due to covid. I'm so nervous. I know it won't be cancer as it's only low grade but I have endometriosis (disagnosed at 19) and also cervical cancer runs in my family (recently found out my Nan on my mums side had cervical cancer in her late 20s/ early 30s)

Does this affect my risk? Can low grade dyskaryosis turn into high grade? I'm not sure how it works. It's hard enough waiting weeks but having to wait over 6 months from the original smear to getting my colposcopy results is hard for me. I know it won't be serious but it's very hard not to be a little worried for what may come of the future. My doctors never discussed anything with me so I don't know if these could just be abnormal because of my endometriosis??
