Meningioma

Hi everyone, Newbie here!

I've just been diagnosed with a meningioma, multiple sclerosis and 2 ruptured disks on my spine, casually over the phone as it happened! I've been told that my tumor is just over 2cms in length and width and is on my motor cortex on the right side of my brain. I have been referred to Neurology but am still awaiting an appointment.

It's all been a bit of a slap in the face if I'm honest and alot to take in! I've been getting these tention type heads across my head and had an eye test today that suggests the tumour is affecting or reducing my sight scope slightly.

I never thought anything like this could happen to me as I'm sure you all did as well. I would love to get some advice or hear from someone who is in similar shoes to mine.

Thanks Bonnie

  • Hello Bonnie79

I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnoses. You've certainly been landed with a lot to deal with all at once. It's good to hear that you've been referred to the neurology team and hopefully the appointment won't take too long to come through.

We don't have many members here living with brain tumours but if you have a look at The Brain Tumour charity website they have lots of information about meningioma on their website and I'm sure you'll be able to connect with others who have the same diagnosis on their forum.

Alternatively, if you'd like to chat things through with one of ur team ofnurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Bonnie,

So sorry you've had to deal with all that, sounds so overwhelming :(! I know you posted this a few months back and was wondering how everything is? My mum is in a similar situation, she was recently diagnosed with a meningioma that's the size of a golf ball as well as thyroid cancer so super overwhelming! She's still awaiting surgery and things so just wondering how it's all gone for you, really well I hope.

    All the best,

    Nancy ️
