Sarcoma in a child

I'm in a terrible state. My daughter is 8 and has a lump on her right thigh. It just looks like part of the muscle. The GP has fast tracked an ultrasound for her to rule out a sarcoma. I'm so frightened. Has anyone experienced this? Any advice gratefully received x

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear of your worries and I can imagine this must be unsettling. It could be a precautionary measure - the referral is good as it will mean you have answers, and hopefully before long too.
Try not to assume anything at this point. Take things a day at a time and as I say I hope you're able to find out more soon.

Thanks Ben.
I have spoken to my GP who has reassured me that they just want to rule it out and that it is very rare.
Hopefully we will hear about a scan very soon.
