Lymph nodes

So last year my partners dad died of pancreatic cancer he got diagnosed and died within 2 weeks of being told.

as you can imagine it was a awful time fast forward 1 year and my partner has found a lump on his neck managed to get him to go to GP who told him he needed blood tests.  These came back normal but was sent to hospital for more test's.

he had Nasoendoscpy scan and biopsy.

we went back 2 weeks later and was told results was inconclusive so had to be repeated also had a MRI with contrast.

we had a appointment for 11th August but had a call from hospital saying they have changed appointment to 6th I'm seeing different consultant and we are so worried that this is bad news.

We are so anxious about this my partner has bad anxiety and depression and I was wondering if it could all be linked to lump but getting appointment brought forward has scared us both.

any advice.

  • I'm sorry no-one was able to get back to you before you saw the consultant yesterday but I do hope the appointment went well and your partner received some good news.

If there has been anything playing on your mind since you saw them, you're welcome to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Steph thank you for getting back to me.

unfortunatly it wasn't the best news we recived my partner was told he had cancer.

I am hoping what the consultant was saying is true he said we have caught it early and outlook is good but still a shock for us both.

  • I'm sorry to hear this Smudgersmith but I hope you can take some comfort from the encouraging news the consultant gave you.

No doubt you're both contending with lots of thoughts and emotions right now but you're not alone as our community completely understand what you're going through and will hopefully be along soon to offer their support.

As I said in my previous post, you're very welcome to talk things through with our cancer nurses as they will do all they can to help you at this time.

    Best wishes to you both,
