Scared - possible ovarian cancer

Hi!

 

New here and absolutely terrified. I hope it's ok to post.  I've been having a pain in my right side since Feb, went to A&E in May because it was bad but was fobbed off and told it was 'non-specific abdominal discomfort'. I then went for a GP appointment in July because my periods weren't right. I had bloods taken, wee and stool sample done and the bloods came back abnormal (CA125). 
I'm having an ultrasound later on today and I have a gynae appointment next Tuesday but I'm absolutely terrified that it's going to be cancer. I'm 30 and have three gorgeous boys. 
 

I guess I just need to get it out with like minded people and need someone to talk to. Anyone else fancy a chat?

    Hi Sarafin2401

    Wishing you all the best. I understand that an abnormal ca125 does not necessarily mean ovarian cancer. Please stay as positive as possible. I am in a similar boat and that is what I keep telling myself. Difficult and frightening but we need to find strength and encouragement from somewhere.

    Hi! 
    Thanks for replying. My ultrasound came back clear so I'm just waiting on my gynae on Tuesday. 
    I'm so scared about what's going on. 
    From what I've read other conditions (particularly inflammatory ones) can trigger a rise in CA125 too. 
    I've no other symptoms than the soreness in my side which radiates all the way up to my rib and back down into my groin. Nothing seems to trigger it as such. It's just sore all the time. 
    I'm such a mess right now

    Hi ladies 

     

    just wondering did either of you get any confirmed diagnosis, I'm in a similar situation with pain in side which radiates up to rib cage though ca125 was normal, however, I'm so worried it could be ovarian cancer. Am now waiting on ultrasound. Hope your both ok xx

    Hi I had abnormal bleeding and stomach pains doctor did bloods raised CA125  put a 2 week pathway.I had a transvaginal scan which showed a thickening of the womb,I chose to have a GA for the hysteroscopy and biopsy which was just on Wednesday they found a polyp which has been sent off for testing,just waiting now on results.Try not to worry I thought exactly the same when this all started.It could just be something simple but they push you to the top to rule things out.xx

    It just such a worrying time, though I'm trying to keep occupied and hoping for the best.
