Just diagnosed- Stage 1 Grade 3

Hi all,

I have just be diagnosed with stage 1 grade 3 Ductal Breast cancer on Monday, It was found by accident(thank goodness they found it) when i went in for a check on my other breast which was actually fine. They have told me that it is positive for both Oestrogen and progesterone receptors and i am just waiting for the HR2 result to come back. They have said that my op- lumpectomy will be in around 3 weeks but within 4 weeks and i will have radiation and hormone supressent medication.I have no idea if i will need chemo yet as the consultant hasnt said but does this go on if the HR2 is positive or not?

Thank you for your guidance.

  • [@Blackbeltinc]‍ hi , i had HER2 positive stage 1 grade3 IDC and i went true chemotherapy.I finished chemo last week and i feel its doable, i hope you will not need if HEr 2 came negative. You must find very difficult to wait for all tests and results, at the moment you pain free so last few weeks to be yourself... time on treatment passing so quick, im diagnosed sice January and now already finished chemotherapy. I wish you to be strong xx

  • Hi Anna,

Thank you for your advice and sharing your experience with me. Did you have to have Radiotherapy as well? How long did you have to have Chemo for was it for 7 months if it was from January?

Were you positive for the hormone receptors?

You are so brave, I am just getting my head round it and keep having a little cry. Its the waiting that is making me so anxious, just want to get it over and done with.

    Thank you again. Xxx

  • [@Blackbeltinc]‍ , hi again . I was diagnosed in last day in January, then went for MRI and another biopsy. I had right breast mastectomy on 10 th of March with immediate reconstruction. I started chemo in April for 12 weeks , and my hormone receptors was negative, but Her 2 positive . My cancer was 10 mm and plus they found DCIC thats why they did mastectomy and radiotherapy not in my plan because of mastectomy. There is lots of tears ahead , sorry for mastectomy then chemotherapy sorry again ... lots of water , it was so so scary but i get used to everything. Your stage its 1 its means very early so mine its the same , they will check yours lymph nodes as well and then you will know more clear. I guess you already have treatment plan but when i started my journey i had plan with 9 numbers and today i get letter from GP there is already 17 , like i said every time something can change . You in safe hands thats its the most important. Please if you have any questions iam here for you x
