Endoscopy

Hi i am new to this forum. I am being referred for an endoscopy, i am already in a panic as i cannot swallow solid food and the thought of having to swallow a tube absolutely terrifies me. I know i will be thinking of nothing else until the appointment comes through and then my anxiety will be through the roof when it does. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

  • Hello Easnic

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with some health problems at the moment and that you're now waiting on an endoscopy. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about things.

Do speak to the team on the day to let them know your concerns. I'm sure there will be options available to make this as easy as possible for you.

In the meantime, you could have a look at the NHS website and the Every Mind Matters website for information, advice, and tips for managing anxiety.

I hope that you don't have to wait too long and that things improve for you soon.

    Best wishes,
