My appointment is 26th and it's still a while away. Thinking that it could be cancer but have to try and push those things to the back of mind. I'm going through every scenario and I was thinking about my music at my funeral that's how worried I am. I didn't know anyone who has been called back, everyone keeps saying it's going to be fine but I can't relax. I suppose I'll just have to be patient but it's my birthday next week and my husband is away so not a great week ahead. I tried not to Google things but I couldn't help myself which just makes things worse . I wish my appointment was sooner but on the other hand I'd rather it never came. I'd be in bits if they changed it, you're very brave

A very warm welcome to our forum. Please try not to panic. You are nowhere near to needing funeral music yet. Many people are recalled after a routine mammogram, but not all get a cancer diagnosis. I have been in your position and I well remeber the fear and panic I felt. Fortunately, after another scan I was told that all was clear and, my relief was palpable..

Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with cancer several years later and have had 2 bouts in the past 12 years. Breast Cancer is now one of the most treatable forms of cancer and, it is worth remembering that only 1 person in every 8 referred to the breast clinic will get a cancer diagnosis. I have been fortunate in that I still lead a busy and fulfilling life. Just remind yourself that 'it isn't cancer until you're told that it is.'

Do your best to avoid consulting'Dr Google'. As you've discovered, it doesn't change anything and only serves to scare you further.

I can fully understand your disappointment. The wait for your appointment, although not long, feels interminable and, even an extra day seems like forever.

Try not to worry if your emotions are all over the place. This is perfectly normal. At this stage this is perfectly normal. There are just too many unknowns to deal with all at once.. Ladygolfy portrayed a prime example when her appointment was deferred to the next day and she burst into tears. Many of us find that we cry for the smallest thing, but letting the tears flow is a god stress reliever, so don't let it upset you. You will find it easier once you get a diagnosis, irrespective of the result.

thank you, I felt a bit calmer the last couple of days but have been busy. I'm just worried as I had a lumpectomy 3 years ago due to a dcis, so just worried it's returned. I will let you know how I get on.

I can appreciate your worries. I had a lumpectomy 12 years ago. I found a lump in my other breast 6 months later. Fortunately, this turned out to be benign. However, exaactly a year after my first diagnosis, I found a second lump in my original breast and this was a second cancer. I had a double mastectomy and have never looked back.

I  shall be anxiously waiting to hear how you get on and, sincerely hope that all goes well.

I've decided to ring the clinic and see why they have recalled me, I'm stressing out and maybe it will help but I suppose it could make it worse! Just on hold!!

just wanted to let you know how I got on today, I was unaware of why I was recalled but they had seen something different on my mammogram, I had another today followed by an ultrasound and they have confirmed it was a cyst. So no more treatment needed as it had already gone down. I hope that you will have good news too as I'm sure you will. Let us know and will be thinking of you on the 26th x
