Metastatic breast cancer

Hi there, recently diagnosed and, after what feels like hundreds of tests, scans and biopsies I am due to meet my oncologist next week.

My lovely nurse specialist thinks may avoid chemo at this point but has anyone ever asked to delay this in favour of a less aggressive approach at the outset?

  • Hello Styles100

I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. It sounds like it's been a long process to get to this point but it's good to know that you'll be meeting with the Oncologist next week and that the nurse specialist has been supportive.

Hopefully, some of our ladies who have the same diagnosis will post to share their experiences with you but in the meantime, I'm going to suggest that you give our team of nurses a call before your oncology appointment. I'm sure that they will be happy to talk things through with you and offer any advice and information that they can. I'm sure that they will have some suggestions about points that you may want to raise with the Oncologist. If you'd like to speak with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch Styles100 and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
