Hello! I was diagnosed with a fibroadenoma about 2 and a half years ago. I had been getting more pain in the breast with the fibroadenoma and the lump felt bigger, so I was referred for another ultrasound. The ultrasound showed that the lump was bigger and my doctor gave me the option of having it removed. But I don't want to have it removed right now and so they did a biopsy instead (which hadn't been done the first time).
The biopsy results have come back and I've been told that the lump is benign, but it's "not clinically consistent with the appearance of a fibroadenoma". I've been given an appointment for an ultrasound guided biopsy. I know it's nothing to worry about because it's apparently benign. But I'm concerned because I've had this lump for so long and now I'm being told that it's been misdiagnosed. Has anyone else been in a similar situation?
