Lumps

Hi, ok so I'm 36 and have been experiencing lots of changes in my breasts. At the beginning of the year I had mondors disease (which usually goes on its own) since then tho my breasts have been very tender. I went to see the doctor last week as I couldn't take the pain any more. She found a pea sized lump in my breast and have referred me to breast clinic. Since seeing her I have found a lump in my armpit, slightly concerning. I suffer with menopause symptoms and I know that sore boobs is one symptom. Can anyone shed some light on this please. Thank you.

  • Hello Hld

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some problems with your breast health recently.

It's understandable that you've had some pain after having Mondor's disease and it sounds sensible that your GP has referred you to the breast clinic to get things checked out. Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long to hear from the hospital for your appointment.

In the meantime can I suggest that you give our team of nurses a call to talk things through with them. They're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040 and I'm sure they will be happy to try and offer any advice, information, and support that they can.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Hld,

A very war welcome to our forum. I am sorry to hear about your symptoms. You are doing the right thing in getting these checked out. Please bear in mind that not all lumps are cancerous. Many turn out to be benign cysts or fibrous changes. Also, only 1 person in every 8 referred to the breast clinic receives a cancer diagnosis, so the odds are still good for you. Have you been given anything to help with the pain in your breasts?

This is a worrying time for you. You will normally be seen at the breast clinic within 2 weeks, so I hope that your appointment comes through soon.

Please keep in touch ad let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards xx
