Hi Cathy
I absolutely understand how you're feeling. It's very easy to say not to worry but I know it won't help!
The only advice I can offer is DON't Google! You may or may not be someone who does. But in this case it's best not too. Every lump is different and what you read/end up scaring yourself with may be totally unreliable.
Also ... And this is def worth holding on to - Out of every referral to the breast clinic, only 1:8 lumps are diagnosed as cancer! This is a really positive ratio! There are so many other things your lump could turn out to be other than cancer. Try really hard to think on this positive side rather than the other horrid one. You will read so many positive outcomes on here. Loads of lovely ladies update their posts with the news they've had their results and been given good news! It happens lots. On a daily basis :)
It's really good that you have been given an appointment so soon too. I know your worry/anxiety levels will be challenging until you go though. It's only natural to be worried. I was confused by the move/non-move thing to be honest. I kept thinking 'What do they mean by move?!?! How far should it move if it's considered movable?!?!' It's a minefield and what we ourselves consider 'not movable' the experts at the clinic may have very different opinions.
You will have all the necessary tests. Carried out by experts. They may be able to tell you on the day what your lump is. You may have to wait slightly longer for results if you have a biopsy. But again, having a biopsy doesn't necessarily mean worst case scenario. Try really hard to think as positively as you can.
Sending my love. Sarah xxx
Hi sarah thank you so much for your lovely reply my doctor wasn't that worried but I'm in the middle of buying a house with my partner an with this I can't enjoy it and wondering what will happen hopefully I will get answers next week and it's all good it is positive to know only 1 out 8 lumps are serious I just need to sit tight an keep busy thank you again
Yes! Absolutely as much as you can, get stuck into all the house buying stuff. I know that's sometimes strsssful too! But definitely better getting bogged down dealing with that and keeping your mind off your appointment.
I wish you lots of luck with new house xxx
