Confused

Hi, I am 60year old women who have been told I have a 19cm ovarian cyst. This is just the update they gave me after being sent for an ultrasound. I was first told about this cyst in 2019 it was found after a scan for blood clots I had on my lungs, so fast forward to 2020, I was sent to see the aneianstiast who told me that an operation to remove was out no way because of my weight so here I am looking for help.

  • Hi,

Sorry to hear you are going through this. Has a biopsy been carried out on the cyst ?

    Have you had these before?

Is it because your weight is high for an operation to be completed ?

If this is the case - Has your G.P referred you for weightloss support?. Or have you looked into this yourself? I've struggled with my weight and it does affect me with energy levels sometimes..I looked onto NHS website for weightloss advice. I also found TeamRH on social media and have lost 10lb so far :)

I am continuing to follow them to lose more, one day at a time  Xx

  • Thank you for your reply

I have not been offered a biopsy as yet, but I received an appointment for the 21st to have another MRI scan this will be the second one I have had along with a CT scan also the ultrasound scan which i had last month,

I haven't had anything like this before but back in 2019 is when they first said I had this cyst along with Blood clots on my lungs.I wasn't aware I had the blood clots my friend came to see me I was telling her I had been in bed for 2weeks thinking, i had bad flu anyway long story short she rang the ambulance and that's how i found out i had a cyst on my left ovary i was told by the man in charge that they would remove it, then i got told i was overweight i knew that anyway my weight has always been a massive issue but i did lose quite a lot of weight but have lost my quality of life i was diagnosed with anemia last month i spoke my GP about the fact since the blood clots were found i was unable to breathe. i had gone from walking every day for 2hours with my dog's now i am lucky if i get out of bed. with covid, I was told to shield because I was high risk. I live alone I don't have anyone to help. I was lucky that my neighbor offered to get my shopping I have not been out for 2yrs you just have to get on with life the best you can. I haven't seen my GP only to have a conversation on the phone. To see if she could maybe help me find out why I was out of breath blood tests found I have anemia so now I have to take iron tablets to see if that can help. I am at my wit's end now.

Well done on your weight loss keep going . It took me nearly 2yrs but I did lose 5 stone but now it's back on due to being unable to breathe along with anxiety depression I feel trapped. I am not putting myself through any more slimming clubs again I would only end up having a panic attack it takes me ages to get out the front door never mind being in a room full of people.

Thank you again for your reply xx
