Colonoscopy

Traumatised

I didn't have anyone to care for me so was told I had to use entonox, I have had lots of procedures and operations over the years but this was the most horrific procedure I have ever had, I was in severe pain during the procedure and they just refused to stop, I couldn't move, I was dripping in sweat, I know this procedure was to help me but surely if you are experiencing that much pain and you ask to stop then they should stop, 2 days later I am still in pain, this is barbaric.

  • So sorry to hear this experience was so painful for you. I took sedation and pain relief and found the experience not as horrid as I'd imagined.  The staff were amazing and incredibly supportive. I tried to focus on my breathing and relax , as tension makes it worse.

I was told that if I had just the first section of colon looked at then gas and air would be fine to use and if uncomfortable I can tell them to stop and that ends the procedure.

Because I had a full Colonoscopy I asked for sadation and arranged for care for that day.

Do you know when you will have your results ?

    Are you still in discomfort?
