My child has a pea sized lump side of neck?

My daughter is 10 and for years has suffered with sore throats and tonsillitis.

A few months ago I took her to the GP and she noted her left gland was raised and said it was more to do with the ears but they were fine, recently my daughter has noticed this lump herself and I've checked it out and it feels like a pea sized hard lump on the left side of her neck last time she had a sore throat it did become a bit more noticable.

I contacted my GP who didnt examine it but said she thinks because of her throat that perhaps the gland is just always raised especially if it swells up more when she has got a sore throat.

Anyone else have experience of this?

  • Hi,

Sorry to hear you have concerns. I am not medically trained.

My nephew used to have lumps like these linked to sore throat etc..... They would flare up and go away each time.

I would keep an eye and if doesn't ease within week or two , ask for a second opinion with another G.P

    Take photos if you can

Alaays go with your gut too xx
