Hello,

        I am a 38 year old female, today I went to my GP because of a lump in my breast, after examining me so she said she was going to refer me to the one stop clinic at the local hospital, I wondered if anyone else had any idea how long this referral normally takes, as my mind is running through all manner of worst case scenarios and its becoming difficult to concentrate on anything else.

UPDATE:

I have been given a date for my appointment, but its the weekeend of my Mum's 60th birthday, I've accepted it as I didn't want to wait any longer, but now i'm in a quandry, I haven't told her about any of this, she worries and fusses and I couldn't handle that right now. So do i tell her the truth and ruin her weekend or lie and say I have to work a morning shift but will be avaliable in the afternoon for whatever she wants to do.
