Hi,

Hi Liz
I got diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer after my surgery and lymphs being checked I start chemo on Friday.
You will have times where you have a wobble its only natural but positivity really does help. When I first got diagnosed I did find it hard to focus on some things so don't worry if you go through that.
Do you have a good support network?

Hi Louise,
Thank you for your response. My husband is really supportive. I do also have a couple of friends who l know will give support if needed. My cancer is showing as Estrogen positive so l may have to have hormone inhibitors after radiotherapy. I guess this could all change once they have analysed the excised tumour. I am having a RF seed implanted on Friday so that the surgeon can locate the tumour when making the cut as it is deep in the breast and cannot be easily felt ( l have big boobs!).
It is all such a shock isn’t it with a lot to take in all at once. I am trying to keep busy with the garden as we were on holiday in Shetland when l received my biopsy results. Lots of weeds to dig up which l don’t suppose l will be doing for a while after my op.
How are you recovering after the lumpectomy? I am expecting to lose at least a golf ball sized lump from my breast which includes a margin around the tumour.
Hope your first chemo session goes well.
Liz
Hi Liz
Getting your results on holiday must of been hard.
Mine was deep inside the breast as well no lump to feel. After surgery I had no problems there was discomfort both under arm and under breast. I followed the guidelines of wearing a sports bra after and it helped alot. The worse bit I found was getting what can only be described as electric shocks under the arm from where the nerves had been moved but that lasted just a few days. My lump was pretty big and you can see the breast is flatter underneath and smaller but looks ok.
I've got a few things to do this week so hoping it goes quick as just want to get the ball rolling.

Hi Louise,
Hope you managed to get all the things done you wanted to this week before your chemo on Friday. I’ve had a couple of wobbles this week but like you just want to get the ball rolling. RF seed going in tomorrow so surgeon can locate the tumour on the 19th.
Although l don’t know you l will be thinking of you.
all the very best

Hi Liz
I spent Monday running round like a nutter as had to have covid test Tuesday so then isolating until tomorrow. Luckily weather has been fab but it hasn't helped my mood being confined knowing once chemo starts I may not feel up to much.
Glad your next stage is happening, op date will soon be here.
All the best for you too.
Louise xx
Hi Louise,
How are you getting on with the chemo?
I had my op on Saturday. I’m obviously very sore but ok so far. I hope to have my results back sometime next week via a phone call. I can’t fault the care l have been given so far. All staff at the hospital were lovely and one of the breast nurses called me yesterday to see how l was doing.
Love
Liz
Hi Liz
I have also been recently diagnosed with multi centric breast cancer in my left breast which is her2 positive so I will be going on hormone tablets as well for 10 years after treatment. I start 7 cycles of chemo tomorrow followed by a mastectomy and reconstruction but I have requested a double mastectomy. Whether they agree to that I don't know but I am having the genetics test as I am 36.
I have found being positive has helped me so much, at first I was on a rollercoaster of emotions but after a couple of week I've remained positive and although chemo scares the life out of me I know it's all for good reason.
I hope your treatment goes well and all the best
Hayley

Hi liz I was Wondering how you are? My mum has been diagnosed with papillary carcinoma after the biopsy they did but now the surgeon said precancerous but may find invasive area am so worried what to think etc any advice would be appreciated xx
Hi Laurajane,
Sorry to hear about your mum. It's a very worrying and stressful time not knowing what the future holds.
I'm doing ok at the moment
My biopsy diagnosed ductal papillary carcinoma in situ, intermediate grade. I had a wide local incision in June but the tumour was found to be an invasive solid papillary carcinoma as it had grown outside the duct. This meant l had to have a sentinel lymph node biopsy and a re-excision to get clearer margins 3 weeks later. Thankfully lymph nodes were clear as were margins and still classed as intermediate grade 2. I am now almost 8 weeks post second surgery and due for 5 days radiotherapy in 4 weeks time. The oncologist has said my prognosis is good but has told me l should take tamoxifen to further lower my risk of a reoccurrence. I already have osteoporosis so am unable to take the usual hormone inhibitors for estrogen positive cancers. Waiting to see my GP to discuss Tamoxifen.
From my reading about papillary cancer it appears to be one of the less aggressive cancers with an overall good prognosis. I've tried to remain calm and positive and am taking it a step at a time. The only thing l am really dreading is the side effects of Tamoxifen as they can be debilitating.
Happy to answer any other questions you have about the ops, recovery etc.
All the very best to you and your Mum
Hi liz
thank you so so much for replying I hope You are ok xx
o am sorry to hear you also haven't been well. I am so
confused as there isn't much info online about papillary carcinoma. It was found in routine mammogram and they the biopsy said 7mm papillary carcinoma pre cancer the doctors said this is good and as precautionary to remove it but since then we have seen the surgeon doing the op and he said precancerous but then underneath a small possibility of invasive. I don't know why they seemed so sure the other week after the biopsy but in fact they won't know until they remove all of it is that right? They said lymph node biopsy wasn't needed due to lack of invasive how do they say one thing then another? I'm so confused they never mentioned a stage type or anything as he said precancerous. How big was yours and do you know if they treat it with chemotherapy I'm so worried mum won't really talk to me about it . I am sending you love and blessings and wish you a full recovery xxxx laura xxx
