I received my prostate cancer diagnosis on the 20th May, T3 Metastatic Prostate Cancer that has spread to my Lungs, Lymph Nodes, hip and spine.
Age 60
Gleason Score 9
PSA 32.2
Classification T3, N1c, M1
Life expectancy 3-5 years
Commenced Degerelix Hormone therapy on the 20th and have my first Oncology meeting on the 9th June to discuss my forthcoming chemotherapy treatment plan.
Prior to the above I had spent the previous 6 months battling what I thought was a severe urinary infection, culminating in 2 blue lighted trips to A&E because I could not no longer pee.
The upshot of all that is I have a bulbus stricture in my urethra and I now have to self catherterise daily in order to keep the urethra open, and of course the advanced cancer prognosis.
Prior to the degerelix injection, the only chronic pains I had were the separate arthritic pains in and around my right knee and I had just stated taking cbd tablets for that and it has since calmed down, however I now have a similarly chronic pain in my left groin, which consequently leaves me in shear agony and still alas, hobbling around.
I presume the evil cancer is attacking the Lymph Nodes in and around my groin area, but so strange that it coincides around time of my first Hormone therapy injection.
I would be grateful for any thoughts and feedback on my current pain, it's really quite awful, even with 8 zapain tablets per day.
Many thanks
John
