I want to get to know people

I'm 19 years old and am scared about what is happening to me.

I have a mass on my rigth ovary and want to get to know people who are in a similat position to myself.

I want to talk to people and to be able to help people like myself.

    Hi Libby,

A very warm welcome to our forum, although I'm sorry to hear why you've joined. I do not have any problems with my ovaries, I am a breast care lass, but I just wanted to welcome you. Hopefully, someone with similar experience to yourself will come along soon.

Have you had a diagnosis yet, or are you still waiting for test results? Please keep in touch. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine,

Thank you for the warm welcome, it is much appreciated.

I am awating a diognosis. I am still undergoing tests and at the moment am on pain managment as my only treatment.

I am really scared as I live away from home in supported living for mental health and autism. The staff here are really good at helping me but have no idea what if feels like as they are only trained in mental health.

My mum and dad live far away and I can tell that they are verry stressed about all of this too. I get to go home every weekend from my placment and we are just doing everything we can to distract myself from all of this

    Hi Libby,

It sounds as if you have a lot on your plate. This must be very difficult for your parents too. It is at times like this that we all need our families. Waiting for a diagnosis is very hard on anyone, but I imagine that it will be even more stressful for you. It really does help to have someone who you can talk to, but I understand how difficult it must be to try and discuss this with the staff in your supported living.

I am glad to hear that you can get home at weekends to see your mum and dad. You are doing the right thing by trying to distract yourself from all that is happening. Keeping yourself busy can help the waiting time to pass a little quicker. I hope that your pain management is working and hope that all turns out well for you.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
