I just read your post and I'm sorry to read that you lost yoir dad at age 56,and thst your brother is and has been battlinh his deesease for five years ,and his pain is gutting worse, and he lives far away from you and you haven't been able to see him,as much as you would have liked to,this id hard for you ,I understand that. 

You say you csnt talk to your family about it ,as it would upset them,but sometimes you do need to say what's troubling you,as if you don't and bottle things up,it can show in your demeanor, ie you could always look unhappy,or on edge,or snap at things that wouldnt  necessarily bother you,or yoi could just go quiet and not talk as much or show as much interest in general things,either way if this is the case your family must have noticed,and they to nay be afraid to ask you whats  wrong,  for the same fear you have of upsetting them .  So maybe you should sit down and explain ,whats been on your mind,but of course that's entirely up to you.  

The thing that may help if you and your brother have WhatsApp  on your mobile phones,,you could arrange a video call, or on fb messenger. 

Or you could both buy  Echo shows from Amazon,you can drop.in on each other ,see each other  ,I have done this got my mum one and myself one,my daughter and son both have one too,so we could still see each other and chat during lockdown,as most if us were shielding .
