Oh Fibro...not again?

Hi,

2018, I had a Fibroadenoma removed from my left breast. It got bigger and then shrunk, got bigger and yarn shrunk, was painful around the time of my period, so I requested for it to be removed. Shortly after, another appeared. It started off small but has gradually got bigger. Each month, it gets bigger and then shrinks, gets bigger, and then shrinks. So the point now both breasts over the last few months are very sore around the time of the month (the fibro is in my left breast, where the first one was).

Has anyone else experienced similar? I'm going to go go to my GP, and get them to check it out. I'm fed up with these, as I never experienced this in my teenage years / 20s.

  • Hello LilacQueen2020,

Poor you - it's unfortunate that another one has appeared and that it also keeps getting bigger then shrinking. You are right to go to your GP and get them to check it out. Do mention your history, that you had a fibroadenoma removed from your left breast in 2018.

I hope that you get some answers on this soon and that you will hear from others here who have experienced this too.

    Best wishes,

  • UPDATE:

I went to my GP, who believes it's another Fibro. I was referred to the Breast clinic, & they too have confirmed they believe it's another two Fibros, & that they're to be removed asap. I'm returning next week to get the results from the biopsy, & see the same consultant I saw 2 years ago who removed the first one.

Hopefully I get my operation asap, as I just want it removed from my body.

  • UPDATE:

I had my follow up appointment yesterday, and confirmed another Fibroadenoma. I'm having it removed at the end of the month.

I am hopeful I don't get anymore after this removal! *fingers crossed*
