Please try not to worry, I know it's easier said than done having to wait with such uncertainty. It is standard for GPs to refer with a 2ww any changes to breast or lumps, always better to be on the safe side. I had a 10 day wait (I know some parts of the country may be longer) and then at the clinic had a mammogram and ultrasound, this took about 2 hours. Thankfully my lump was not suspicious ( the majority are not) and my nipple itching and tenderness was put down to hormones. I know it's terrifying waiting but I hope you have a short wait and good result
