Hi there,
I have never had the procedures myself, but I worked in endoscopy as a nurse for years. I am presuming you mean you're having a endoscopy and colonscopy (apologies if I've got that wrong)
Many patients struggle with the klenprep but loads report if its chilled its a lot easier to take. Also some people mix it with cordial (keep it quite clear).
Try your hardest to drink it all though as a clear bowel makes it so much easier for a thorough examination.
The endoscopy usually takes 5-10 minutes and the colonscopy can take about 15-45 minutes - both can be a little longer if taking biopsies etc.
I know it must be scary not knowing what to expect, but please remember there will be a nurse sitting with you the whole way through you're procedures, they will explain everything to you, make sure you're comfortable and do their best to answer any questions you have
Hope all goes well for you.
Michelle.
Oh thankyou for replying Michelle
can I mix with some orange juice and maybe add some ice?
hopefully il be so sedated I won't know what's happening xx
Yeah definitely just make sure its still quite clear. Even make up the next klenprep and leave it in the fridge so its cool when you go to use it.
Good luck & let me know how you get on xx
I definitely will thankyou so much xx
Iv managed 1 litre mixed with orange juice only having mouthfuls every half hour ( I'm worse then a child) just wondering would I get any resukts after my procedure if they find anything like cancer will they tell me or will I have to wait?
caroline xx
Well done with the prep! You're doing great. A lot of patients describe that as the hardest part.
Every unit and consultant is different when it comes to results. Most prefer to wait for biopsy results.
Please bear in mind that biopsies can be routine too and check for all bowel diseases which might be causing any symptoms you have, not just cancer.
I know this isn't really a definitive answer for you but rest assured they will give you as many answers as they can.
X
Thankyou again you have been a great help x will let you know how tomorrow goes xx
