Awaiting breast biopsy results.

I discovered a lump in my breast in Feb this year. On March 1st My Gp referred me to the breast clinic. On March 4th I had an ultrasound and advised a biopsy was needed.

I then had to wait 8 weeks for the biopsy as I had to turn it down on the day due to me having allergies to anaesthetics and so I had to speak with consultants and await the outcome of an MDT meeting to make sure I was safe to go ahead.

I had the biopsy on May 4th. I rang yesterday to chase. The breast nurse said the results are back and that they will be discussed at an MDT tomorrow. Then ill get a phonecall to book me in for an appointment.

Its difficult being in limbo. I'm 30 years old. My diet is clean. I've never smoked, drank or taken drugs. My body weight is normal. I have no family history of any cancers. Its my birthday tomorrow so I'm really hoping for good news.

I've now read 4 books on cancer just in case, one specifically on breast cancer and treatments. I like to be as informed as possible.

  • Thank you Renata.

I just wanted to let you know that I was told yesterday on my birthday that the lump is completely benign and its definitely a fibroadenoma. Obviously I'm over the moon with these results but it makes me want to help the women who didn't get good news today.

What's the best way for me to contribute and help others?
