Unsure and worried

I feel out of place writing this as i have an appointment soon but no actual diagnosis yet but i have a 10cm lump on my back which at first i was told is a lipoma and nothing sinister which was roughly two years ago i went for another ultrasound because its painful and i want it cut out they said again lipoma fastforward to an mri and ive been told that there is a blood supply where there shouldnt be a blood supply and ive been told it could be cancerous and that my upcoming appointment is to see if it is cancer or not but it is a sarcoma referral i am obviously hoping it is not but i feel very overwhelmed and that if i talk about it too much i will seem annoying has anyone had anything similar

    Hi Amy,

A very warm welcome to the forum. I am sorry to hear about your symptoms and  the concerns that these are causing. This is always a very worrying time, as there are so many unknowns. There is a danger that you can appear annoying if you are discussing this with all and sundry before you have a diagnosis. Do you have a family member or close friend who you can talk openly to about how you feel? I am sure that someone who is close to you will appreciate how scared you are and will be happy to listen to your concerns.

There is still a chance that your lump is still benign. I have had one on my back, one on my face and one on my leg. The dermatologist  thought that all 3 were sinister, but when I had excisional biopsies, all 3 turned out to be clear. I have also had 2 bouts of breast cancer prior to these and it was then that I discovered how I could bore people with my concerns. I have since learned to say nothing until I know what it is, except to my partner, who has been very supportive.

Have you got a date for your referral yet? If not, I sincerely hope that it comes through soon and that you get good news. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
