I was referred for an ultra sound as I found a little lump probably the size of a baked been in the clavicle of my left collar bone. By pure accident! Its really hard to feel but it's there. I had an ultrasound to be told "it's just a reactive node, nothing to worry about". But she found a "nodule" on my thyroid gland measuring 5mm/half a cm. I never even knew it was there! She said from what she can see it doesn't look sinister, but has asked me to go back in 6months to see if anything has changed, she said they can be quite common. I have no symptoms apart from a high white blood cell count which the doctor said most probably is down to me being 9months pregnant, so bloods are due to be done again 3months after delivery to check them again.
I'm a bit confused after googling and seeing that collar bone nodes are usually not a good sign. Can they just be "reactive nodes" and stay bean sized? I don't know how long it's been there because as I say, it was by pure fluke I found it with it being quite hard to feel.
She checked a node on my right neck I've had for years and also said that "it's a gland and part of you, nothing to worry about, they can never go down sometimes".
Thank you for reading if you've got this far.
