Feeling very worried.

I found a lump in my right breast and my GP referred me to the breast clinic. When I arrived I was given a mammogram then was told to go to the waiting room to wait for the Doctor to see the results. I was then called for a ultra sound and a biopsy and had a titanium chip put into the lump. I was then sent for another mammogram and another ultra sound and biopsy. I then saw the Doctor who said it looked suspicious. Can the ultra sound pick up if the lump is cancerous?

I do have breast implants could they have made it look like a lump if they were leaking.
I have an appointment for next Thursday

  • Hi.

We are in pretty much the same situation. I had the same procedures as you. Dr that did the ultrasound said she was very concerned due to the way my 'lump was presenting' and that it was showing a great number of characteristics of being cancerous! Far from ideal when I went in expecting nothing of the sort

I had a biopsy and a titanium marker put into the lump. I left in a total daze.

I have to go back on 5th May for results and told to take someone with me. Hideous!

I don't have implants. But needless to say I've hit Google way more than I probably should have. There are some things that can look suspicious on an ultrasound that are in fact benign apparently. But nothing can be determined without the biopsy results.

Sending love and hoping it all goes ok for you xxx

  • I'm also in the same situation, I'm beside myself with worry.
I don't have a return appointment scheduled but they said I'm likely to get a call in the next two weeks.

  • Hi,

I go through stages where I feel positive then the negativity comes back. My concern was having a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy twice. Why would they do it twice at the same appointment. I've only got to wait a week for results and he only said it looks suspicious. Regarding taking anyone with me I have to call on the day to see if it's ok because of COVID-19

  • Hi,

i go through positive and neitive feelings. I had a call from my GP on Friday telling me I had to stop taking my HRT until i had my results. That worries me as I went for my appointment on Wednesday 21st and the GP rings me two days later.

  • Hi,

sending you best wishes and lots of luck.

  • I think waiting is the hardest part as it consumes your mind. I have a lot of un-answered questions and when I tried to ask them I got told I was jumping the gun but that's how I like to deal with things as it prepares and eases my anxiety.
I am quite young, obviously not the same but they also told me to stop taking my pill.

Wishing you the best of luck at your next appointment ️ X
