Positive FIT test

Hi ,

I was sent for a pelvic CT scan and then referred to a bowel specialist who asked me to do a FIT test . I received a phone call 48 hours later to be told it was positive and I need an urgent colonoscopy, I received a letter today to say I am on a two week pathway and will be seen ASAP.

I'm 55 and lost my dad last February to bowel cancer. Very scared I have it now.

So please you are fighting it, there is no easy pill to help me through the op chemo radiation I have missed many things like my daughter's weddings, etc it's a mental illness that just won't go away so even going for my colonoscopy I had to have hypnotherapy so no chance of intervention of surgery, etc. It must be tough getting it a second time I feel for you but I would rather stay the same as I am for what time I have left, hugs x

Hi ladies, I just posted my first post. I to am under the 2 week rule. My Dr rang in 24 hours of the fit test. My level was 146 I had 4 days of loosing lots of bright red blood after passing motion. although at time of fit test poo looked normal so I was surprised. I have colonoscopy 13th May. I'm 41 year old female. Do you know what your fit results were if you don't mind me asking. Thanks lian xxx

Hi sorry you going through this 2 mine was 345 I have an 8cm tumor and I have no side effects at all x

I i'm in a very similar position yet I have not spotted blood in my poo my doctor did a test for my iron levels my stores were good but the iron in my body was low and because my bowel habits have changed she requested a fit test, my results came back at 183 So I am also in the two week wait I have to start the diet tomorrow have a Covid test on Wednesday body clear out Thursday and I'm in hospital on Friday I am absolutely petrified it doesn't help that I buried my best friend to colon Cancer less than a month ago
