Hi,referal to breast clinic on Monday 26th. Had a lump under my armpit since October, but was too busy looking after my mum  who had had a bad accident.  Anyway it didn't bother me until  about 6 weeks ago  when it grew and became  more noticeable. When it first appeared  I'd bought a new can of antipersperant, same make as normal  but it stung like hell and irritated  my armpit.  I'd also bought 2 new bras so wondered  if either of those  caused the lump.  My lump looked a bit like eczema.  So no antipersperant and back to the old bras.

I contacted the  Dr  when I noticed  the size  of it, phone call ,photos, penicillin, then after another week an actual  appointment.  She said it needed further  investigation.  The appointment  came very quickly.  Last Monday  I didn't sleep.  The big C kept running  through  my mind, ive 2 new grandsons on the way and I was thinking I'm not going to see them.

Can't wait to go to breast clinic to find out. Fingers crossed it's a cyst, but the worry is terrible.

Just got back in work after lock down. Hope I don't have to close for treatment.  Anyway  I must be positive.  Reading  through posts on here has helped.

    Hi DogloverBev,

A very warm welcome to our forum. I am sorry to hear about your concerns, but glad to hear that you don't have too long to wait for your appointment. It is always a good idea to get any breast changes checked out, if only for your own peace of mind.

Even if it does turn out to be the big C, breast cancer is one of the more treatable forms of it. I have had 2 bouts in the past 11 years and am still living a busy and fulfilling life and am still running my own business at 73. Just remember that statistics show that only 1 person in every 8 referred to the breast clinic gets a cancer diagnosis, so here's hoping that it turns out to be something more innocuous.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
