I'm a Canadian a old one at that who learned last december that I had colon cancer stage 4, now please indulge me because English is not my native language I live in Québec where French is the first language. Until now I had 3 treatments of chimio and it's starting to get to me, fatigue mostly a bit of insomia and very sensite to anything cold.

  • Bonjour Merino,

It's great to have a member from beautiful Quebec! A big welcome to Cancer Chat. I love this photo you shared of the little child and the dog both being the same height...

Your English is very good by the way. I am sorry to hear about your colon cancer diagnosis and the effects the chemotherapy treatment has had on you. Fatigue is often mentioned on this forum and we have some information here on cancer fatigue, its causes and ways to reduce tiredness. I hope you will also hear from some of our members here who have also suffered similar fatigue after treatment. For example, Duranie who was diagnosed with rectal cancer mentioned only today on this thread that she suffers also a lot from fatigue. But poor you fatigue combined with insomnia sounds like a difficult combination - do mention this to your medical team to see if they can help you find ways to deal with this.

There is a lovely lady here who is also from Canada LorraineD and I think she would be a great person for you to chat to. She has been affected by three different cancers in the past five years including bladder and colon cancer I think. It's always nice to talk to others who are in a similar situation and understand what you are going through at the moment.

    Best wishes,

    Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
