Hi,

I am so sorry to hear about your side-effects to Letrozole. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer and took Tamoxifen for the 1st year post-lumpectomy. I developed a second bout the following year and had a double mastectomy, followed by Letrozole for 6½ years.

I had a lot of emotional problems with Tamoxifen and the night sweats were horrific. With Letrozole, my sweats were not as severe, but my joints and eyesight were affected. I had both knees replaced and have had 7 eye operations so far. It is difficult to attribute the joint problems totally to Letrozole, as I suppose that I could have developed Arthritis in the years that I was taking the medication.

I hate to say this, but I still have night sweats at present and I stopped taking Letrozole in July 2017, as well as a lack of energy and fatigue. I also put on 6 stone in the 7½ years of taking hormone therapy. Fortunately, I have since managed to lose 5½ of these and am still watching my weight.
