Chemotherapy - R-Chop

I had my first session of R-Chop chemotherapy 3 weeks ago and felt fine after it and only had a couple of hours on my 10th day when I felt aweful. The only side effects I had included a weird taste in my mouth and unable to sleep. My hair started to fall out last week and to be honest I had no emotions neither negative or positive. I did try to think about how I was feeling as I am keeping a diary but I just couldn't come up with anything.
I teach and my employer has been very supportive as I wanted to continue teaching as this helps me cope with everyting and I have a routine. I know this may not work for everyone but for me it has been very important as it is helping me and giving me something to do that is constructive and I am doing something that I enjoy.
Finally, had my second session today so will update about this next week.

  • Thank you Karmal for sharing your experience of having your first R-Chop chemotherapy session. It will be so useful to others who are about to embark on the same chemotherapy journey.

It's a good idea to keep a diary and it's great that your employer has been so supportive and you were able to continue teaching and that it's given you something else to focus on, something that you obviously enjoy and seem to be very good at.

I hope your second session went well and that you won't feel to many side effects. Keep us updated - we would love to hear your experiences again!

    Best wishes,
