Mom diagnosed

Hi everyone,

My mom was told last week that she has breast cancer and is currently awaiting her biopsy results.

So far she has been told that they couldnt straight away see any lymph nodes affected although they can see something on her spine that could be caused by wear and tear of her 4cm lump though nothing has been ruled out. Her blood results came back normal so now just waiting for the biopsy. I feel sick with worry and I am really struggling. I know she is terrified. I just don't know what outcome this will be or has anyone been in the same situation with anything I explained above?

Does anyone have any advice? I'm worried about hearing the worst news that it's advanced.

Thank you x

  • Hello Positivebeing

I'm sorry to hear about your Mum's recent diagnosis. It's always difficult hearing that a loved one has cancer and it's understandable that you're feeling anxious whilst waiting for the full results.

Try to focus on what you do know at the moment and the positives within that. The fact that there were no obvious issues with her lymph nodes and her blood results didn't raise any concerns are good starting points.

Hopefully, she won't have to wait too much longer for her biopsy results and the team will then be able to arrange any further tests before discussing treatment options.

In the meantime, I'd suggest getting in touch with our team of nurses who will be able to talk things through with you and offer some support and information. They're available Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Do keep in touch and let us know how you're both doing.

    Best wishes,
