Newbie with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma

Hi, I'm 51 year old woman and I've just (10 days ago) been diagnosed with Follicular B-cell non Hodgkin's lymphoma. I haven't been feeling 'well' for a while and after a sore throat and anemia that wasn't improving I was sent for a biopsy. Other than my diagnosis appointment I haven't seen anyone since, have a CT scan in Wednesday. Is this a normal time scale? Don't know stage yet, but it's  grade two. I know this is a common reaction but I've fallen to pieces. I'm a single mum to 2 early teens and an 11 year old. Any advice would be welcome x

  • Hello ShalomJackie

I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. It's understandable that you're feeling overwhelmed and anxious about things. I hope that you have family and friends around you that you've been able to call on for support.

It's good to hear that you have your CT scan tomorrow. Hopefully, this will give the team of Dr's all the information they need to plan what treatment they will recommend for you.

I'm guessing it may be difficult at the moment with the children home for the Easter break but if you manage to find some time to yourself then I'd suggest giving our team of nurses a call. I'm sure they will be able to give you some advice, support, and information whilst you're waiting for news about the next steps. If you'd like to speak to them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
